Strategy Director

Overview

We are on the hunt for a well-rounded and experienced senior strategist, looking to make the step up into a more senior role as Strategy Director. It’s an incredibly exciting and important time for the agency, following some important pitch wins. The role will be varied and fluid across branding, design and communications - including complete brand creation, re-positioning and campaign-based work. The role is perfect for someone looking to make that important next move in their career, into a position with more responsibility and the opportunity to take the lead on accounts.

We are looking for someone with confidence in their ability to be the driving force behind smart, cohesive strategies. Someone with the skill and proven experience in bringing both internal and client teams along on the journey. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in branding, design and/or communications. They will be looking to work in an agency that truly engages in the full brand experience, starting from initial inception and all the way through to comms, with an astute ability to write engaging brand stories that can travel that full distance.

Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market research and arriving at inspiring, insightful interpretations of the learnings.
  • Leading and inspiring a team – helping creatives realise a strategic vision.
  • Playing a central role in the inception of campaign and comms planning.
  • Working collaboratively with creatives and helping them get to big ideas.
  • End-to-end idea articulation and storytelling through great presentation writing.
  • Presenting key strategic thinking to clients of all levels.
  • Working directly with clients on an ongoing basis.

Skills / Experience

  • 6+ years’ experience as a strategist, agency experience preferred.
  • A strong understanding of brand strategy.
  • Experience in brand building and design thinking.
  • A solid understanding of how brand ideas translate into comms.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong capabilities in stakeholder management and the ability to earn the trust of clients.
  • The ability to manage own time and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under direction and independently as required.
  • Creative writing and idea generation capabilities a big bonus.
